2016 status of waterfowl report released

Was at my state DIFW office yesterday and asked if they had copies of the waterfowl regs yet. The woman at the desk said no, they were "waiting on the feds".

Glad to hear that's not true.

Our regs still say "pending federal register" as well, but I'm 995 sure its not gonna change:

Brad - Thanks for the post. For 3 years now, when I ask for regs when buying my Fed. Waterfowl Stamp. I'm told to go on line and print them, because paper regs are no longer provided.

Carl, thanks for the additional info.

From what I've seen on redheads the last two years those numbers aren't lying. I never hold that my experience in one god forsaken swamp in MN is enough to tell a national story.... but holy geez oh man: there's days when I could be 6 out on reds in 30 minutes.

Also appreciate the AL season post. The Feds gave MN an option for early Teal, but the State passed given our status as a breeding state and too many other birds around. May try to sneak across the south border to IA and see if there's some shooting that might be had. Have heard too many good tales about them teals early.

In about 3 weeks I'll start seeing the flocks moving through the hunting grounds. 75-100 birds. Gives me goosebumps and is more dangerous than texting while driving when I'm heading down the county highway!

Any better time of year then the next 4 months (at least up here, you down south will have a longer intermission!)

Sept. thru the end of January is crazy on the coast: Early Teal, fall speckled trout and redfish, duck season, etc...
Throw in college football, Boy Scouts and son's cross country, we don't get a break until February 1.
