Can I convert my 2003 25 2 stroke pull start to a electric start?
It has no teeth on the fly wheel.

We just did this with a 99 Johnson 30 hp.You"ll need a flywheel with teeth-starter-battery cables-push start button.Pullstart would'nt work with flywheel with teeth,eliminated it. Had choice of filling pull start hole or going to a remote style hood with no hole.Drilled a hole for button on tiller side corner making it user friendly.Have a friend with 30 yrs exp and parts for omc making it reasonable.They tell me dealers sell the kit for $500 depending on year and weather or not you need flywheel,older motors have flywheel with teeth even on pullstarts.

Check out this site for info. By select the brand, the year, the model of your motor you will be able to view a parts diagram. It should be easy to see what parts you will need to either change or add to convert yours to an electric start.

Dave find a blown up electric yammy like yours transfer parts, sell whats left over!

My 1992 25 yami has the flywheel and is pre wired for electric start.
