i used my 25 evinrude the other for the first time in a while. before i launched i tried starting it and noticed it wasnt getting fuel. turns out the fuel line connection at the motor was shot so i replaced it and it started right up. went fishing, started with no problem. got up to speed with no problem but after a while of cruising around at low speed looking for fish on the graph it started stalling on me. kept losing prime. each time it stalled, i went up front and squeezed the bulb and then it would start. i did notice that the bulb would stay collapsed longer than normal instead of expanding after each squeeze. it didnt seem to pressurize properly. any ideas as to the problem? maybe a bad bulb? bad fuel tank? bad connection at the tank? id appreciate your suggestions. thanks, mark

Just a guess, but if it ran fine, then starved for fuel, you might have something plugged up. Try loosening the cap and see if it runs better. [/QUOTE]

Mark;Dothis check 1-look at the hose of your fuel line ,it will have a year on it, if it'sover two years old change it 2-because of 10percent ethonal gas is in the fuel we now buy,it causes the linner in the hose to break down it will show agreenish slime and pieces of tan colored hose , which will clog the bulb from fuel going thru, thus a soft bulb after running a few minutes, then starving the engine of fuel . 3 You can use the same fitting but wash them out with soap and warm water dry out well 4-Buy the new hose line that says gas and alcohol resistant. 4-Also buy an inline fuel filter and place it in the fuel line between the gas tank and bulb. 5-Buy star-tron it's an enzyme fuel treatment pint bottle about $9.oo Walmart sells it ,it will treat 128 gallons of fuel it works and keeps fuel clear{white like water is}also keeps the fuel and the 10-percent ethonal from breaking down. P.S My mercury dealer brought me up to date on this today for I just went thru the same problem.Hope this solves your problem. Let me know how you make out. Cas in Delaware
