A bird hunter was born

My oldest is 5 now, and has always had an interest in birds, decoys, etc... We threw a little gas on that fire today. He walked with me for two hours and never complained a bit.

Last year on the 15th I was breaking 1 1/2" ice, this year it was 65. We took advantage of the nice weather.

He wanted a picture of himself, with the dog, and "the real gun". I hope he likes shooting that Light Twelve as much as I do. He and his little brother both have one, I try make sure neither of them get too dusty. This warm weather is rough on the dogs, it's been a while since her tongue was that long.

Great photos Hank. Glad you didn't have more shells in his vest, he wouldn't be able to walk. Cherish the time together. Jim

nothing like the smiles of a kid and his lab after a fun day in the field. Keep stoking that fire so you will have enough fuel to burn the video games and cell phone when he gets older.

I think your breaking in rules are wonderful. That youngun will be a great partner in time to come. Seems to me he is already starting out that way. You have many exciting seasons ahead of you, Hank. Great shots.
Al
