So i,ve been preparing for sea duck hunting for months now and it finally came together last Thursday, i had half a day and beside previous attempts where i couldn't find any birds i decided to go again for a 2hr plus drive(one way) and this time i found them

Had to stop and take a pic of this, rainbow good sign i thought

So i'm waiting after setting the decoys and saw a big flock way far on the left and as everybody said i flagged at them, i couldn't believe my eyes as they turned right away and came in straight on the decoys, i aimed at leading drake black scoter and fired off a #2 heavy shot, two drakes down, my first ever Sea duck(s).
TJ coming back with one

A single Surf scoter came in and i missed , yes all 3 shots at i guess 25 yds. The next two were also black scoters and that was my limit for the day, can't ask for any better, first sea duck hunt and first hunt out of my Freedom.

I'm hooked, just love the big water hunts.

Farrukh,
great shot of TJ with the first bird.
That boat is just awesome. I had a good look at one a while back. I really like that size.
Which motor did you power it with?

Again, very nice way to start the year.

Farrukh,

Nice shots of a great day on the water.

I haven't ever shot any scoters other than whitewings and Surfs. Someday I'll get some of those orange flavored ones though. I think they get them up towards the N end of Puget Sound.

Farrukh,
You have made me proud great to see them decoys doing what they suppose to do. Looks like TJ got a good workout to.
Great day on the bay .
My Best wishes for a great season .

Nothing could have been more perfect. What a great first hunt for sea ducks. Farrukh, I sure like the looks of your pup, TJ. Excellent pictures. I would assume you already have plans for the next sea duck hunt.

Congratulations on a great morning Farrukh. Really enjoyed your pictures - a very different setting than most of my hunts!

Congrats on the successful hunt! Great pics too. I took a ride down the beach yesterday afternoon and saw thousands of birds heading south. Flock after flock. Guessing some of them must have been sea ducks. Good luck with the rest of your season. Luke

Good stuff! Love the action shot of TJ and the one with him in front of the boat!

Very glad it all worked out the way you hoped!

Congratulations, great job!!!
You gotta feel good about getting into the seaducks in you new boat and having your best buddy make the retrieves for you.
Just too cool!!

AWSOME! I'm so happy it worked out well for you. Can't wait to hear about it. That kind of day makes all the prep work worth it.
