this is my 24th year to duck hunt and i had never shot a canvasback until the other day.......i can honestly say, watching those birds come into the decoys was one of the most incredible things i've seen.......i'm so envious of guys that get to hunt divers daily i don't know what to do.

2 cans, 2 scaup, 2 teal, 3 mallards and a black duck were thrown out (supplemented by avery can decoys until i can get a full rig of divers going)....

i carved everything but 1 can and 1 scaup which were carved by kyle thompson over in alabama.

Alright Justin! You'll be surprised at how quickly you can get your "greenhead purist" MS hunting partners to start shooting divers.

Also, I'm very glad to see my decoys at work!

Justin,
that is one nice bird and one nice dog.

Nice work on those decoys. That black duck would fit right in up this way. I like the background in your picture. What a difference from where we hunt.

Hey Justin,
After seeing that fine picture of the area that you hunt, I will tell you that I am mighty envious of you and the great area you have to hunt. What kind of trees are those?
Congrats on that first. I happen to really like your pup.

Justin, Congrats on your first Bull Can !! Although we shoot our fair share of them up here, we are envious of those who have cypress swamps to hunt in !! The thought of gunning in flooded timber for us, is only a dream..

Great stuff!! Nice looking dog and decoys. Congrats on your first can. I like the buttressed bases on those trees.

Justin, good job. I used to see a few cans up at muskegon marsh years ago. Your dog looks pretty proud.

Dave R. were gonna hit a river north of lowel tomorrow then maybe gun on sunday. Can't believe seasons almost gone.

Good luck
