I'm still saving some exotic wood scraps for you. I've got some bloodwood and jatoba stashed away but it may not be thick enough unless you lamminate it together. It's about 1/4" thick, 2" wide, and several feet long. What are good scrap sizes for handles?

Eric , I think the simple answer would be ..............YES.

1/4" thick, YES , Could laminate
2" wide , YES
several feet long, JUST NEED TO TRIM THE LENGTH ;)

I'll just keep the scraps and let you decide what is good or what can be thrown away. By the decoy show I should have more scraps, possibly Ebony, Bocote, and Brazillain Rosewood (Morado).

One other thought. If you want to head over to Scottsboro during the decoy show and put your hands on a lot of exotic cut-off pieces (< 3 ft) we could do that. I'm fortunate to have an outstanding supplier of imported wood 30 minutes away. He has a table with a spread of many different species and I'd image that something like Leopard wood could make a beautiful handle.

Jeff, Talking about wood. I have some sumac wood. A nice light green with light yellow gain. Its a soft wood. A fellow made a blade for me and I made the handle and covered it with epox with name tag. If you would like some PM me with your address.
