Eye bolts were needed for dock lines. Why doesn't Lund put these in automatically?

I bought a Garmin Striker 4CV fish finder/sonar unit. I now see why this unit is so popular with boaters and kayakers. What a great piece of gear! It draws only .25 amps/hr.

I decided to copy kayakers and use a small 12-volt battery stored near the fish finder instead of running wire around to the main battery. The battery is stored in a mini-amo box that is strapped to one of the storage bins. Thus the power cord only runs about 1' from the battery. This seems to work well.

One of the first fish caught in the boat was a nice bass, about 5 lbs. If you look at the stern you see my 2 hp Johnson. I tried it out as a back up motor in case of emergency. It's no speed demon but if there is ever a problem with the Yamaha, the little one would get us home. This boat is too big to paddle!

Here's a nice touch from Lund: their boats come with a canvas cover. This one is 23 years old and still in good shape.

Now you probably wonder, "How are you going to duck hunt in a red boat, Larry?"
This is how. Up in Michigan I have in storage a Pop Up blind that I had custom made years ago for an 18' Starcraft I used to own. That blind is adjustable and should fit on the Lund just fine. Here is a pic of that blind on the 18' Starcraft.

I am very happy with my move from the Whaler to this Lund. I look forward, God willing, to many happy days on the water.
