I was there this summer. After years of name brands boots that never fit, I bit the bullet myself. My boots were to arrive in Oct and I recieved them in Nov. When I tried them on I noticed the footbeds had different pressure points on bottom of each foot. I felt more of an arch in the right foot, and the boots with twopair thick socks were very roomy. I called and they told to wear them for a bit, then decide if I wanted to send them back. After my trip to KS thanksgiving trip I did. I recieved them in mid feb and the KS dirt was stil on them, but they fit much better. With so much snow I haven't been able to wear them much to find out how well the fit, but I don't notice the difference in footbeds and they are tighter fitting. Whats discouraging is my buddy bought a pair off ebay, unkown size and they fit me like a dream. I need to spend a bit more time with these, but if there are any problems I know they will fix it.
Tod, I'll third the suggestion on the whites I have a pair of the logger boots with a vibram sole , a pair of "REAL" logger boots with corks from my olden days of hunting elk in the heavy timber of the cascades "(great for running down downed trees) and third a pair of their lace up packer boots that I ride in during the summer, they are all great boots.
Also I would suggest the Kennetrek boots from Montana, they make a lighter summer weight boot, I have a pair of the mountain extreme boots and they are fantastic!!The Kennetrek's are all made in Italy.
I bought a pair of the new Under Armour speed freak boots at cabelas, they are going back , nothing but a bunch of cheap China garbage, wore them 8 times and the toes are peeling apart.
BTW I never thought you were an asshole, Good luck on the boot quest

Did canelas stop carrying youth sizes or something?
Here's one you never thought of. I too was looking for a pair of boots that met all my requirements. So happened that I had a pair of Keen Moc's that had some issues with the heel. They were under warranty and I wanted to get them fixed or replaced. Too make a long story short, they couldn't do either so I was told to order whatever I wanted out of their catalog and they would send them to me. I orderd their insulated hiking boot and OMG these things are amazing. Absolute best pair of boots I've ever owned. Turned a couple of buddies onto them and the love them as well. Anyway....
I wouldn't give these guys another chance. It has been how long and you still don't have the boots you ordered. How long of a turn around would it take if something went wrong with these boots during hunting season? How much confidence would you have that you would get those boots back and they would be fixed and fixed the way you wanted? I'd say you already know the answer.
For what it is worth.

I fear you won't find a boot, even a custom boot like Russell, that will handle your plantar fascitis.

What would an ahole pay for a pair of boots like that? In corresponding with some Africa hunters sporting $50K custom rifles, I asked what boots they were wearing. Suprisingly they were wearing sub $100 Orvis Paladium french foreign legion. suppose to be amazing boots, but kinda look like converse chuck Taylor's. Just prior to me ordering a pair, Orvis stripped them from the website. I have some danners, and then another pair of mid-level hiking boots that i bought at a friend's suggestion (he backpacks a lot). The thing that struck me was how many hiking boot options are out there, how high tech the materials are that they use, and how cheapl a quality pair can be had. I think i'll probably stick with hiking boots, except when i need rubber boots and/or snake protection.
