a wisconsin duckboats and decoy carver get together

In some PM's with Eric Dellamater, he suggested we should try to arrange a get together of duckboats members and decoy carvers from northern Wisconsin (and others who are willing to drive from wherever!). At this point it is all a "supposal" with no location and no set agenda or format. Just looking to see if there is interest. As to dates, I thought July or August would be good, but the date(s) will be set by those expressing interest and the format will also be set by their input.

There is a LaCrosse get together in August (no intent to conflict with that!), but Eric and I wanted to start a northern WI get together/meet and greet/swap meet/carving session for those closer to Green Bay and Lake Michigan.

If you are interested, speak up with a reply to this post, or PM me.

Thanks,

Mike

I would be very interested in a get together. What location were you thinking about? Some place in the Fox Valley?

Just recently picked up a used Bankes Intruder and would like to get different ideas on how to set it up for layout hunting. I already have a Hoefgen Duck Skiff and a MLB ZT Wigeon.

Place is not set. So far, I have gotten two replies, both from the Green Bay area. If we keep that trend, the
Fox Valley would be great! We'll try to reach a consensus among those who answer. I live in Wausau, not a convenient place for a get together.

Any Fox Valley location suggestions?????????

I might be interested depending on when/where it is and if Congress does something before furloughs kick in.......

How does Prairie du Chein WI work for everybody? I'd be willing to drive to Prairie. That's North,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, north of me. :>) :>)

i would love to be there. How about Goose Island just south of Lacrosse? :)
Seriously, I would be interested,, will be waiting for the where, and when.

Once we get all the people together, I'll put out feelers as to several locations, and see where consensus, or if not consensus, majority preference takes us..........

Sorry Mike, I meant it as a joke.
The Goose Island location is where us guys from the tristate area have an annual gathering.
But I would still be interested in coming up north to see the guys up there. Yaa heeey dare

That Eric Dellamater guy is kind of a creep but I would still possibly attend something if done in NE WI.

Hey Chuck, give me an idea of where further east you mean. It kind of looks like we are looking at Green Bay/Appleton righht now, based on the numbers of respondents from GB, Appleton, and NE WI. Plus, I think I can get some of the decoy carvers from the Green Bay Duck Hunters to help promote a waterfowl day/swap meet/duckboats.net get together.

If that is too far/too far west for you, maybe we could set sequential get togethers in Michigan and in WI, a month apart so duck hunting/decoy carving/ducl boat junkies like me, who are semi-retired can attend both. I am assuming wisconsinites can cross the border into MI, assuming our papers are in order. If we swear that none of us are Buckeyes, will you guys let us in on a temporary visa?????????

I'd hate to miss an opportunity to see some of your canvas decoys and ask questions in person...........

Actually, I think Eric is a nicer guy than me............so, maybe he and I need to turn the organizing of this over to someone else?

Don't worry, if I attend, I'll do so in disguise and not act like myself.........

Mike

Bob;
I really hope you and others can attend. totally understand the schedule thing. Until my kids were out of the house, scheduling stuff around my work schedule, their Tae kwon do, the daughter's horseback riding lessons, school, extended family events, and miscellaneous commitments required a computer, but this was long before PC's were readily abvailable and used in homes!

At the worst, I am hoping we can get a registry/mailing list of NE WI duckboats members and have some annual (or more frequent) social get togethers for swap meets, decoy painting parties where we can help each other get ready for the season, etc...........
