Since the site's inception we have allowed people in the industry to share their goods and services. With no paid advertisers this has created an atmosphere where people can feel free to speak highly or poorly of any particular supplier of waterfowling goods and services,as well as giving someone a chance to build their business without being told "sponsor up or shut up". From day one I have encouraged honest participation and involvement from suppliers as they are typically serious waterfowlers with interesting things to say, in exchange they would get exposure that leads to more business. Some vendors have embraced this becoming active participants and site supporters, while others are not interested in spending the time to become one of the community to get such benefits.
In case you are wondering about the Lake Bonneville post it was removed after the author requested his account be deleted from the site. Further, for everyone's benefit, below is the note I sent him when he contacted me about the responses he was getting. The only reason I post this is to inform others how those percieved as spamming are typically treated and what the community expectations are.

The purpose of your post appears to be promotion of Lake Bonneville and your own website. There isn't much content other than that and the community of duckboats.net does not like participation by an individual whose primary purpose appears to be promoting goods or services. If you want to be a part of the community you need to engage in conversations, share stories and information, and become one of the community. Periodic posts that seem to advertise have never been well received at duckboats. Don't take it personally, just become part of the community through genuine participation or you can expect such treatment.
