Afa marine experiences?

I am looking at an outboard on line with AFA marine out of Florida that seems to sell a lot of motors and ships them anywhere.

I cannot find any bad reviews online of experiences with them and there is not any bbb problems.

I am sure the first response I will get is "buy local" or "wait for it" but the motor they have is exactly what I am looking for at the right price.

The question I have- Has anyone actually bought from them?

Kevin, Remember that Florida motors are usually used all year around and can have a ton of hours on them. They can be salt water motors too. The best used outboard I ever bought came from Wisconsin. Rich

I had thought about the salt, but not the hours. Nth at is a very very good point. I always forget that a lot of people put more than 5-10 hours a year on a motor. Lol.

I have backed off of that motor in particular. I will just wait until the right scenario comes along.

Yep, there's no way in hell I'd buy a used motor out of Florida.

Nowadays, the computer will give u an accurate hour count but it the salt sitting in the block that is the problem.

It amazes me the number of guys that don't flush their engines just because it's saltwater rated & SS sleeved.

Thanks. I have come to the conclusion that I should buy locally if I can.

Worst case scenario I will buy a new Tohatsu if need be.
