After letting most subscriptions lapse

Eric - I totally agree! My wife had some Delta skymiles that were about to expire so we managed to get about 8 mag subscriptions "for free". I happened to sign up for Garden & Gun and I'm just blown away by the articles. I actually received the latest copy today and sat down and read the whole thing. A great article about a boot-maker in Texas and a writer's first experience turkey hunting with an avid outdoorsman. I can't get enough of it.

You are correct. My experiences are limited to the eastern half of this great nation. Plenty of good people here in the northeast, but the population as a whole is not as "neighborly" as in other parts of the country.
