Ahhh, the good old days.

The lever action shotgun is a Winchester and the double looks like a Lefever to me. Just a couple of old coon hunters with their coon hound and 3 fox plus an ermine in their display of cased pelts. Looks like 2 reds behind them and a grey fox on the right. Neat old photo.

Dave ,the way that dog is looking so intent, the photographer may have been a critter. It's old,so maybe a Condor.

Back then there were way too many Condors around. Question for ya, since Condors are not migratory birds.......that means we can use lead shot right?

BTW, I did a little trading with the well driller guy. I traded him rock for a well job down by the barn.....I saved $2,500 by trading him rocks. In three weeks I'll have a new well for the ponds, barn and house site on the 43 acre side. Another local farmer wants to buy the DG here on the place and he has his own loader and dump truck. I told him I'd sell the DG to him dirt cheap :^)

I have more people coming Thursday to look at the place.

Stay cool!

Yikes, you mean we don't have to get the lead out???
I'm sending some good Karma for selling property your way,so that it sells soon.Hell I'm not getting any younger,
and even though age is only a number,I'm still looking forward to Montana in the next year or so.Had a terrific sail Sunday,
but we are back to 97-102 temp for the rest of this week.Took wife to the airport this morning for Sacramento via Dallas,
to atttend my Grandson's wedding on Saturday.I'm holding the fort for awhile.Used to it by now.

Hello Dave:

That is my kind of picture! You gotta know those guys had some stories to tell. Are either of them kin to you?

Best wishes.

Hi Joe,

Actually both those guys are my brothers, one on my Pa's sise and one on my Ma's side :^)

Say, how'd that gun of yours come out?

Dave

The one on the left is my uncle gusippi and his friend Hey-U. :^)
I hear gas in Mobile has gone down and ice cubes have gone up!

Dave, the new SxS is doing fine.I shoot it better than any of the others I have ,both at SKEET AND trap. The heavier trigger pulls have not been a problem.
I,m still POed that he sent it to me with much heavier triggers than I specified,so I haven't called to tell him how great the gun really is.He'll say,"sent it back, and I'll take care of it".I know he will, but that's exactly what I wanted to avoid, even though he'll pay shipping both ways.I have shot over a case of shells out of it,so far with no issues other than the barrels getting hot when skeet shooting.I was hoping for a slightly fuller Bevertail on this gun.A minor problem, that will feel good in cold weather.

In reference to my quest for the shotgun, I'm still shopping and saving...funny thing how a 9 year old girl's wants and needs take precedence over my desire for a new shotgun.

Shoot, it's so hot it's almost unbearable. I haven't seen a heat wave like this since I've been down here.

Carl,I've lived in this area for 30 years and it has never been this hot,or this dry. It's going on six weeks since I cut grass. It just breaks when you walk on it and
large cracks are starting to open up all over. It's hot enough to drink "BAD BEER",as long as it's COLD :>)

At least we are getting rain down here. I've got to cut grass each week. Guess I shouldn't have fertilized this summer!
