All ready for a road trip...

Glad you enjoyed the post Paul. I enjoy sharing the trapping with friends who enjoy the outdoors but don't trap. I've taken a few friends out the past few seasons and it's always fun. I imagine it gives them something else to look for when they are out and about.

I also enjoy seeing posts from other folks on here doing things that seem exotic to me.

I wrapped up my trapping season today (beaver season closes tomorrow). I ended up catching three more beaver this week. Those pelts will stay in the freezer for the summer (to avoid the bugs). I'll flesh and dry them in the fall and send them out for the next season's auctions.

For dinner tomorrow I'm going to try making beaver tacos.

John-thanks for suggesting that trapping forum, that sounds like a good idea and I will do that. Here is a picture of "my" shack. I actually rent this place, I stumbled into it years ago and met the guy that owns it, we did a handshake deal, and there I was. We have fixed it up pretty good over the last several years. Our shack is the one on the left. I just started priming it before a big color change (red to green), so it is gray right now. The owners trapping shack is the one on the right.

Here is a shot if you do a 180. It is about 3-1/2 miles to Delaware Bay from there across that meadow(that's what we call them in South Jersey). There are several miles on either side also.

So there are plenty of spots to go poke around in. I go down there about once a month in the off season, and every week during the season. Lots of muskrats in the area.
