ALS Auctions...

With the permission of our site monitor, I am going to host several decoy auctions with all proceeds going to ALS Research. Over the years of friendship with Jim Schmiedlin, I've given him some of my decoys as gifts of friendship and thank you. With Jim's condition, he is returning some of the gifts friends gave to him. Jim returned several of my decoys and, I want to sell these decoys with all proceeds going to ALS research. These decoys are some of my best work as they came from the heart going to Jim. All are personally inscribed to Jim and are out of his collection.

Each auction will begin on Monday morning at 8:00am CST and end Friday of the same week at noon CST. Here is a picture of the group...

I appreciate anyone bidding on these decoys and contributing to the donation made in Jim's honor and, thank you for helping one of our own.

I look forward to bidding on these Pat. Having lost my grandfather to ALS I often think about the wonderful times i missed with him due to a very debilitating disease. My grandfather was a very loving, caring and generous man. I have tremendously fond memories of the tickling, large bowls of ice cream, watermelon in the summer, fresh picked blueberries and blackberries at dawn followed by pancakes truly the size of the pan, fishing, lots of fishing, home construction/remodeling, etc. I miss him greatly and it has been over 30 years since he passed.

This disease is horrible and doesn't just affect older people. It can strike down someone in their prime. The toll that it will take on the family is tremendous.

Thank you for demonstrating your friendship to Jim and the generous, loving man that God has made you Pat. This is a wonderful idea and an awesome way to get others involved in contributing to research and hopefully a cure.

Your Brother,
Chad A
