Cabelas dropped out of Eastern Sportsman show. Google lancaster online for the artical. This was not a very good idea on the shows part. I will not be attending this year as well.

I think it is a great idea by Cabelas and shows they stand behind the 2nd Amendment. Reed Exhibitions does not, I think they will find a lot of people dropping out and not attending as a result of them eliminating AR15's from the show. I was going to attend this year and am having serious second thoughts about it.

Sorry, Harrisburg Pa, hunting, fishing, outdoor show. Was a really great show was 9 to 10 days. We spent two days there. Largest I've been to.
 
This was always a great show to attend. I've been going for about 10 years now. But I won't be going back if they don't change their tune.

Thankfully lots of show sponsors are dropping out, and celebrity speakers are canceling appearances now.

Keep spreading the word to fellow sportsman. Call or email Reed Exhibitions or post on their facebook.

I always heard this was a cool show. I read about the sporting arms not being invited on a deer hunting forum. It's about the second amendment for goodness sakes. Your either for it or against it. There's no in between. My hats off to those pulling out and standing up showing solidarity for all gun manufacturers.

You have to be in the trade to go to SHOT show. It's not open to the public. Every black gun manufacture and accessory manufacturer in the country goes to SHOT show. I didn't hear of any issues but I get my feedback from guys I know that work for the local manufacturers like LMT and Armalite. AR15.com is the holly grail for the black gun enthusiastst if someone is interested in more information on AR guns.
 
Jim and Eva Shockey will not be attending either. Was there a press release on this? Would like to see it.

Lots of big drop outs today, Ruger, Smith&Wesson, Thompson Center. Archery companies are dropping out. RMEF dropped out. Most celeb speakers have dropped out, and quite a few guides and lodges have dropped out. I'm pretty sure every waterfowl call company has dropped out.

If the pressure keeps mounting they will have to reverse their decision or the show will fall apart. Too bad, I always enjoyed going.

Boycott the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Expo on facebook is being updated regularly. Another website Mynortheastoutdoors.com is compiling lists of vendors that have dropped out as well.

There is a push to put on a virtual expo. You'll be able to find all the boycotting companies in one online location. I figure I would have spent $100 just in gas and admission. I will spend that on some of the boycotting vendors in addition to any purchases I was going to make at the show.
 
I have a friend who lives outside of Harrisburg. Here is what he emailed me today:
Actually the Governor did that when he put a ban on the sale of assault rifles on state property. The show is at the state farm show property. There are a lot of upset people down here.

If you live in PA, send the Gov an email. It seems he is the cause of the assault ban at the show.

Looks like there will be a lot of table space available.....cheap! This just may be a show on it's way out.
 
I guess the governor doesn't care for guns ??? He also doesn't care for income to the state [Big Bucks], employment to workers, vendors and service workers. The good people of Pennsylvania elected him, you people call him. The loss to the state is MILLIONS, employment, hotels, food and gas etc.
New Orleans sued the gun industry and the Shot Show cancled the show there. Bright move, they must have gone to the same college classes???
