Any body want some styrofoam for foamers?

Either I am a financial genius or a real idiot.

Yesterday on Craigslist there was an ad for 130 sheets of 2" styrofoam sheets for $100. Well I have got over $100 already invest in my foamers and will probably spend at least that much again, to get as many as I want, so bought them. For those of you having trouble visualizing how much that is, picture one stall of a two stall garage filled from front to back and floor to ceiling, also picture the wife upset when she tried to park her car in there.

Took three loads to bring it all home (Thanks Dave)

I probably only want about 30-50 sheets (all I can store) and am trying to sell the rest on craigslist for $2.00 a sheet.

If anybody around Green Bay wants a couple sheets to try building some foamers, let me know (free to members of the forum).

Good buy! I'ts quite generous of you to make your offer as well. I'd be all over it to insulate the Garage, but I have a feeling the fuel would cost me about 5 times of what it would to buy it locally. Happy Carving!

Sold 15 sheets earlier today and have a commitment to buy another 60 on Thursday. Provided the guy comes through, I made my invest back, paid for gas and can even buy Dave dinner out somewhere for the help.

Time to start cutting.

Andrew,

Sounds like you made quite the deal! Any chance you can post pics of your work? I've started down this path- have made one body, to include burlapping. Have 4 dozen Herters 72 heads that need a home....

Take care!

Bill, I have made about four or five dozens so far. I make the body, burlap them then carve a head out of 2x6 glued together, and attach it with the keel with a dowel through the body. Will see if I can get a couple pics tonight.

So far, I have turned out a couple decent heads, but the bodies and painting weren't anything to write home about. However, I did kill ducks last year with them.

I did spend some extra time on the last one and am up to painting it.

Trade you some head for a rhubarb pie? LOL
