My oldest son had difficulty steering with a tiller. He does pretty well with a steering wheel so I made the switch. He loves the thing and I have to admit, it's more fun with the wheel. Glad I did it.
I looked into the stick steer arrangement. The principal reason why I didn't do it was because of the above, but, it's too wavy in our bay here and I'd be thrown all over the place if I moved the stick up front.
As you know John, the Snow Goose is perfectly balanced where the driver naturally stands. McMiller was testing the boat out the other day in the waves and I sat/kneeled/prayed up front ; ) it was painful. Pete was fine of course. The stick wouldn't work for me here in the salt.
