Any interest in a decoy swap this Spring?

Seems to have gone over well the last two years with only a few hiccups. Keith H. when running a swap came up with an excellent solution. Send a picture of your completed bird and your name goes in the hat to be drawn. No picture no entry into the draw.

Mid May would sound like a good time to draw names, I can have one or both of my younger daughters pull names/numbers and get it going.

We can run two different swaps
one for cork,wood and canvas the other for anyone wanting to swap foam birds.

Birds are to be painted as a decoy you would hunt over yourself. Ready for the new owner to line and hunt.
 
I was just looking through old posts from around this time last year and wondering if it was going to happen again.

I'd be in for a cork and wood decoy. Mid may sounds like a good time to exchange as well.

Everyone who wants to enter the swap posts on this thread that they want to enter. Also include materials used to make the bird. I will keep an updated list of names on this thread. When you finish a bird either post the picture of the bird or send it to me via private message. The only way your name goes in the hat to be drawn is if I have confirmation you have a bird completed. On or around May 20th I will draw names/numbers and post up who will receive birds from who. You are then responsible to ship your bird and set back and wait the bird that is coming to you. I know two years ago someone did not get a bird that is why I would like the confirmed picture. If someone still does not get a bird I will carve them one and take care of it.
 
Jim I will gladly take it, might as well have a third in the rig!!! That oil finish on your redhead looks better every day. He will be displayed in the house until duck season
 
I would be interested again this year. I've been pleased with the two decoys I have from this event so far and believe this is a good way to get decoys from other guys to add to the rig without having to buy them. I better get back out in the shop and see what I can come up with.
 
Rich opening day of duck season I threw fifty carved birds. Fourteen different carvers were represented in that marsh rig. Bird swaps have always been fun for me. As long as I don't get a bird from that Jeff guy in Arkansas I will be happy :)

Ouch! Although with the woodduck I'm trying to salvage now I might agree!

I will jump in here. Probably hollow pine - most likely a Brant - unless this species is too limited in its appeal?

I am in for cedar teal if it doesn't get made fun of. Not too many birds under my belt but have a few teal that I just cut out.

A brant bird would be great. It may never see salt water depending on where it goes but it will get gunned.

Neil all of us started carving at one time no worries you won't be made fun of
