Great video! I've never met Marty or even seen his work in the flesh - but - thanks to the web and sites like yours, he is certainly in my Pantheon. Thanks for putting that together.
WOW...great video......I've seen a bird of his now and then but to see that many in one place at one time is just fantastic.....I'm a Brant guy so when I saw the flying Brant I was on point...then all those gorgeous Wigeon and Pintails started showing......have I said WOW! yet?......
Question....you said the Association had amassed the decoys...are they from "individual owners" who loan them for the display?.......
WOW! I might have mentioned that already.......but it bears repeating....
The video is good, but nothing like seeing them in person. Yes the birds on display were from private collections. Ken Cole probably had 40 birds from his hunting rig displayed there.
The only power tool Marty uses is a bandsaw and he doesn't use sandpaper....blows my mind. And he's fast...he did a carving demo a few years ago and had a body done start to finish in just over an hour.
ONE OF THESE DAYs.......I'm gonna make a run North in the Spring to mist net and band Woodcock in Wisc...capture unfledged Woodcocklets for banding in Minnesota and WHAT THE HECK I'll either open the trip or close it out with a visit to this show.........that will be neat addition to a trip for sure.......
An hour on a body.....harummppphh...I loved the part where he said...."don't copy"......buwwwhahahahahah I couldn't copy his keels....with a 3 D printer....programmed by Michelangelo.......
Did I mention WOW at all?.....should have if I didn't......
