The civil war reenactment group I'm with ( Stanfords Ms. Battery ) has been invited to participate in the Seige of fort Morgan. We will be there portraying the 6th OHIO artillary ( we get to be Blue and win one ).
There will also be 2 Ironclads in the harbor firing on the fort as we return fire !!!! We will be bringing an ORIGINAL 3 inch ( 6 pounder ) cannon , plus firing the seige cannons from the fort at the ironclads.
The state park is giving us the Bachelors officers quarters to stay in while we are there.

Man , i can't wait.........haven't gotton to blow anything up lately. :)
 
Send me some more details...we're supposed to be in Orange Beach, and that sounds like something the kids would dig, too.
 
Rick, October 16th -18th is fall muster at Beauvoir on the gulf coast,Biloxi ( http://beauvoir.org ) this one is a little more relaxed , a lot of fun.

Bill , unfortunatly i don't have much more info as to what all will be going on at Ft Morgan on the 1st -2nd. Just know if your in the area you need to come by ! like i said earlier , how many times will you get a chance to see 2 ironclads in mobile bay ! ?
 
When will you arrive?
We hadnt planned on coming down to the fort that weekend but if you are coming through Mobile on the 31st around lunch time, maybe we could meet up. If we pick the right restaurant, we can even see some of my hunting spots while eating!

right now i don't know if I'm leaving that friday morn. or have to wait on a friend to get off work..........

my plan ( right now ) is to leave that morning and follow the gun down and help get everything set up.
unless something happens and I have to wait on my buddy to get off work then go down that afternoon.

would love to meet up ,
