Might have been a little windy here last night....

AND COLD...

When it cold you protect your territory, (food source), with great fervor....

Imagine back in the days of "horses" and you lived here, thirty miles from town? Be a long time before you went to the movin picture show wouldn't it.....I think they put up the signs "hunting by PERMISSION only" so that people will stop in and they can actually see someone that isn't family.......so ask permission here....

Nice Pictures!!!

And yes I am feeling warm... up to 13 degrees at 1:00pm.... and NO WIND... thinking of breaking out the speedo!

Great pictures Steve, I like the old homestead, reminds me of Montana. It warmed up to almost 20 today, feels warm after three days of single digits and sub zero before that.

John

Great pictures.
And no, I'm not feeling warm.
Heat is out in 1/2 of our building and its damp and cold (for the Gulf Coast) today down here.
Should have took off & went hunting.

Well,,,at 1 pm it was 3 above and last night it was 18 below.........so it can drop 20 more and we can pretend it is Fairbanks AK.

Awsome pics, I am going out this afternoon and take some good old fashined black and white pics of the winter scape here. Last night we shot skeet in 11 degrees witha pretty good wind and lots of snow comming down. Only 4 of us at the whole gun club. I guess everyone else is just abunch of fair weather shooters. hehe

I really like the partridge in the bare tree.

What the hell ya doin' shootin' a camera when there's a rooster in the air?

We're supposed to be pushing 50 by Sunday after a high temp barely above zero earlier in the week. It'll be interesting to see if I can find a hole in the river tomorrow AM but 3/4 of the dekes in my pack are full-body loafers in case it's a shelf ice hunt.

"ohhhh ohhhh ohhhhh...another double on that Benelli cam".......

Looking like snow on Sunday here....I do like watching Wigeon sliding into the decoys out of a snow squall.....hopefully the weather folk got it right....

Steve

Great shots Steve. Gettig cold here in the East finally, Just got our last pit in the ground today. The farmers are still cutting corn here. Now all we need are the Geese.

Oh yeah I'm feeling nice and toasty warm. You'll have to post more pics to get me feelin chilly. I've got my feet propped up right next to the fire.....me thinks you ought to post more pics....I'm not cold enough yet....

I like em though....those are great.....the second picture....what sort of tank is that? What is it for?

Dani

drops below 90.......this woulda kilt you.....9 degrees and the wind was blowing about 30.....don't know what that equals in Wind Chill but in DaniChill it equals...DEAD DANI....

Tank?...in the second picture.....ummmmmm....thats a fence post....in a parking lot.....with a rock on top of it.......

Cold numbed your brain.....yep...that must have been it.....maybe I'll post some slightly warmer stuff to help you thaw out....

Steve

Yup that's pretty cold....but since I'm curled up next to the fire....and the room is a nice comfy 82 degrees thanks to said roaring fire, I think I'm quite thawed out.....

fence post?!?! Oh! A fence post! Silly me...beach bum that I am, I shoulda figgered that y'all nor'westerners would use upside down SCUBA tanks as fence posts. You must have some serious woodpeckers out there though. Where's the rest of the fence?

First time I've been to this place so I can't say why the cable that should be runing through the hole in the pole isn't there....maybe they just hadn't gotten around to installing it yet? ,...

82 and you get there by creating pollution........shame on you.....

Steve

Thanks, I was finally recovering from the heat being off in my office Monday and Tuesday- now I may not be able to get motivated to hunt tomorrow!
-Bill

just trying to do my little part to continue to melt the polar ice caps...since my gas guzzling girl truck doesn't do it's part like your REAL truck does, I figger that I can make it up by keeping my feet warm.

Dani

That first photo is awesome Steve. That would look great in a calendar or on a card. It looks cold out there. We are finally getting some frigid weather here, which should push the ducks down. I've only seen black ducks and maybe a few mallards. Not much doing here of late.

Best,
Nate

THE MIGRATION hasn't occurred in your area yet?

That the NORTHERN Mallards and the RED LEGGED Blacks haven't arrived?..

Say it ain't so Joe....(sorry for that but "Say it ain't so Nate" just doesn't have that ring"...

Glad to hear that things may be on track to "get better" with this recent cold snap....
