Anyone have a source for plastic buckets

There seem to be several on 1-20 between here and Atlanta. I will get your brother to pick up a few when he comes over next time.
Sincerely
Jason

The blue one with the "D" handles has a snap-on lid. This one has lost some of it's snap. The white one has molded handles and a screw on lid. The green one is for scale.

I would like to know how a 7gal,or 5, for that matter ,will fit under the rear deck of almost any BBSB,other
than on it's side, then you have a tangle problem.Yes?Ever tried electric cord reels?the large one w/frame will hold
about 500ft of 1/4" line.

Eric, in your wildest dreams....did you ever think that you would take a picture of a couple buckets?? Remember when something had to be special to waste a flashcube on?

I'm not as old as you, Grandpa, but that comment made me spray my coffee all over the screen! LOL!! And Yes I do remember that "era"....

be tough to put the seperators in because of the narrower neck than an flared bucket but the size is right....Thaks for the photos. If I can't find a 7+ gallon bucket I'll be looking at that one.

Joe, this is for the big boat not the Barnegat. I use a very limp line for longlining that can be fed into a bucket, no coiling, and NEVER any tangles, in the big boat. Way faster than the "reels" and none of the "twisting" that is a given when hand wrapping on a reel. In the Barnegat I use a heavier, stiffer, tarrted net line that coils on its own as its laid into the floor of the boat. That gets slid up under the rear deck when its in the boat.

I tried reels, and spools and thoroughly disliked them for the extra time they take, and the tangles you get from them, over a bucket. Sort of like tomato sauce on grits.....different strokes.

Lee,

thanks for the laugh...

Steve, most bakeries around you have 6-7 gallon buckets for the filling, often trying to get rid of them. (least my cousins bakery is...) Give them a try, local too

Are you looking for "waterproof"? My first thought would be to split the longlines between a couple 5gal.... put one or two lines in, then set another 5 inside that bucket and fill it up. Same footprint.. Or you could cut the bottom out of one and w/ every bucket you slide down in you'll gain a few inches of height. I don't know what size main you're using though, so a few inches may not be enough to add a 100 footer.
