Anyone seen the new DRAKE decoys?

I haven't seen them in hand but they sure look nice in the photos I've seen...the variety of head positions is really nice and if I wasn't using corks I think I would have found the decoy I'd want..Mallards only at this time but Mark Schupp, (who by the way did the master for the Mallards--WAY TO GO MARK), tells me that Wigeon will be next, (and on this one someone else we know did that Master), and other species will follow.....

October and duck season approaceth......

Holy crap - please say this isn’t so, a phony Steve Sutton is on the board. You seriously did not say a plastic - I repeat plastic decoy looked good.... While we all know Mark can carve and even if it was cast in pink sparkles would make ducks come in ... But Sutton - plastic. I bet you went and traded the Mile's boats for aquapods with team whine and have Mike down at the grocery store wearing a green "assistance" vest walking old people. What has this world come to? Crap, I feel an aching need to get out and start fishing with a bobber again...

cant wait to see those deeks.

but your post cracked me up....I have hired Mike out as a "assistance dog" and I fished SEVERAL TIMES this summer with a BOBBER...and a BIG ONE at that.....

And I didn't say that I was going to have them I said they were VERY VERY NICE, and they are......

So what happened on that boat up here?

Steve

the ba$tard sold it for the asking price. I had an offer in and he got a better one. O well, lots of others to look at.
Now is that a red and white bobber like your southern roots or a clear Pac-NW one.
How are those aquapods working out - get to slide them over any levees lately?

maybe I shouldn't have bad-mouthed the Aqua Pods like I have in the past....sure makes it hard to sell one after you've said how poorly they compare to other similar craft.....wish I could get it to Florida and I'd send it down there, easier to live with a mistake when you only have to deal with it (5) days a year.....

And it was NATURAL CORK bobber......haven't gone completely insane......YET....

and amazingly fit for his age?

THought so....he is WISE indeed...and you'll be well served listening to what he says int he future....ESPECIALLY about people who provide photos of an event and then restrict there use......

Steve

A wise man once told me: "Life's too short to hunt over plastic decoys"

Life is also too short for me to wait to go hunting, until I get my own rigged carved. I may be retired by then. I should have already been done, but life gets in the way.

No, the guy I'm thinking of isn't amazingly fit, nor all that old, and I'll leave it up to you to decide if another guy is good looking (not my thing)...but I think I know the charactor you speak of, and he's more of a wise-ass than a wise man...

Man what's next Steve - a spinner?

Couldn't resist. I'll have to look for the drake deocys.

thats all I'm gonna say at this point......but "if" it happens its just so that I can start killing those Mallards instead of all the Wood Ducks that are flying over on their own......

Jim......its lugging the cork decoys that keeps us "fit" in our old age.......no way we'd work out that hard any other way.....

Now that you outted me I guess I have to come clean. I must correct one point although I did do mallards I only did the hens, I'll keep from outting the other one so he can continue to enjoy his anonymity

I know you never said that you did I just "assumed"....

You got water? I know the answer to that one....

You got Rails? Inquiring minds want to know.....

Steve

Steve, the ground shaketh with rails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, lots of them. The full moon has them here in force. Teal numbers smaller than last week though.

Yes on the decoys. Room for improvement on the paint, but it is a start. Wish I was half the marketer they are! Helps if you have good ideas like Tate comes up with......

You mean by free time, the time that we actually can get away and hunt? Or free as in no one is going to be hunting so the farm is "free" to hunt? Two very different things and I can't speak for Ira I can tell you one of mine is MUCH greater than the other!! If you can get here by Fri. I can put you on a good dove shoot, with teal to open on Sat. I'm not sure on how many days this weekend I'll be hunting but if I was guessing I'll be able to count it on one finger. The following weekend I'll be at the camp with Cade so that weekend works too. I'll be at home texturing some carvings tomorrow so give me a shout on the cell and we'll hammer it out.

So if they are DRAKE decoys how can they be hens? Sounds like a new version of "Who's on First" . . .

Bubba: Dem's nice decoys Billybob, what kind are dey?

Billybob: Dem's Drake's decoys

Bubba: I see dat half are drakes, but what brand?

Billybob: No, dey are all drakes

Bubba: What about da brown ones?

Billybob: Yeah, dem brown ones is drakes too

Bubba: Well dey sure like hens

Billybob: Dey are hens

Bubba: You just said dey are drakes...
