Ran across a good possible maybe kinda option today
vs spending the bank on a NEW BUILT RIG.

18x60 WarEagle 2006
Has open floor seats 4 hunters
Full alum Blind that doesnt look to bad.

never had a gas motor hung on it, used state parks
only with electric..........

I know they are deep boats this one has no
console steering at all so perfect for the pro-drive
motor.

Anyone care to comment on the WarEagle Boats

dave, i have no personal knowledge since i've never owned one, but you won't have any other boat suggested in Arkansas. Of course your hunting and our slide-through-the-timber in a 15' are way different. I'd say they hold their value very well so that should say a lot.

my .02 for what it's worth.

Dave,
I've owned a 1648 and am currently hunting out of a 1754.
They are a solid boat w/ a reputaion to match and hold thier thier value.
They are great general purpose duck boats for river and bay, though the semi-vee has limitations in big water, and in shallow water.
I've run both types of mud motors and outboards and they've performed well.
My opinion is that mud motors perform best on long skinny boats with a flat bottom and rounded chine.
Personally I would consider an outboard for an 1860 semi vee,but it will depend on your intended use of the boat.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

No more outboards for me, with the lower river levels
that ended the life of my old 40 evinrude. I hunted 10
years out of my old lowe roughneck 1860 with hard blind
that was to heavy and I never messed it up to bad.

I think I have found a good fit with an already nice blind
that comes off all aluminum hardside that is also not to tall at all.

Rig is 5 hours south of me and will have to try and get
down for final inspection in next couple of weeks if the
deal goes as planned.

2006 hull never had a gas motor on it
2006 Bear trailer less than 500 miles on it
Custom blind and open floor plan hull ordered
from WarEagle this rig may just get me back
into the hunting next season with the 36PD on it.

I never had speed with the old lowe and just want
to get there in one piece.

War Eagle builds a great hull, but they are NOT designed for a PD. Westwind's reply to your post on MMT.com gave you the build specs on the perfect hull for your needs, anything less will be subpar at best. I have a PD32FPR on an 1860 Phowler hull, I know they are expensive, but you get what you pay for........do it right the first time and you will be money ahead. Call Paul and get it done.

may not be perfect but 7K-8K less is a whole lot when I
don't get to hunt as much as I used to anymore. Its
hard to justify that kind of money for a boat that I will
get to use less than 20 times a season max.

Appreciate the input and I planned on going all in
but have to be sensible sometimes, cause the resale
on these boats like all boats is not that good. If my
days on the water came to an end dont want to be
sitting on a rig pushing 18K+++ invested.

The old Lowe I had for years with the Godevil that
was to small for it was good for many hunts and
lots of birds.

Nothing is SET IN STONE yet but this rig I found is sure
close to what I had before. Just a whole lot of money
for so few days of the season. Need to THINK more.

Hi Dave. I have 2. A 1546 fld (15' x42 low deck and open floor) and a 2372 (23' x 72" with open floor). Boats are tough as hell. My brother's 1542 hit a barge piling in the fog at plane speed (he was being an idiot). Front end bent up 4' straight up like a landing craft. Boat didn't sink, kept them going to the landing(several miles). War eagle cut front off and put a new one on. Still going like a tank and can't tell a thing. Mine rode hurricane katrina upside down. Didnt have a dent. Wouldnt own another boat!!!! Did I say they are tough!!!!

Trip.

I have a 548 with a mud buddy surface drive. As others have said the hull is not designed for a mud motor. However, it can work pretty well.
I had to play with the way it was mounted a bit.
In addition keeping a an eye on the load is important.

If you are not running it like a mud boat, but just want a more sturdy motor, I think you will be fine. That is essentially what I have. I bang it around off of rocks and such in shallow rivers without worrying about it.

I tend to hunt in the open water and deal mostly with underwater hazzards not runnin up onto mud and beaver dams.

Weeds, lillys, and just getting the prop close to the bottom is about all I ever do. This boat he has for sale is very nice
and I think would replace the old Rough neck well.

Appreciate the comments guys.

Heres the one I am considering, I got a call from WarEagle today just to ask about the 2006 Hull that I am considering and very nice customer service got my questions answered n all. 18' x 60" 26" sidewalls :)

here is a real bad photo of the rig... its a cell phone photo of a actual REAL photo lmao.

Zink Sign was for a show it was at. Inside is wide open
floor plan ordered from WE that way with full floor and
side pan covers. had 2 WE bench seats inside with storage padded backs even! all comes out when blind
comes off. Blind has locking lids also that hinge in.

Some great pics eh lol. Boat has been in storage for several years inside at least.

Will have to make a lil trip south after 2nd Shotgun season I think.

Blind is not real TALL that I like, gives you kinda idea
of how tall it is.
