Started yesterday out trying to get my shop in order…. I got sidetracked.
I’ve had this handheld dummy launcher for 30 years, the stock was broke and I really don’t think it was that useful for training. Until now. Power door lock actuator and remote winch controller from Amazon made for an easy build. It works great and

has great range.

From left to right top row: redwood burl that has been stabilized, California (English) walnut, Same walnut again.
Bottom 2 are American Smoketree locally called Chittum wood burl.
The 8 sided calls are a loose copy of the Oscar Quam calls made during the 1920's and 30's. Quam was a commercial manufacture in Minnesota I believe. I also make a smaller version with 6 sides much like the smaller Tom Turpin timber calls.

Hey Fred

I was at Bob Loki's a couple weeks ago and saw a call of yours in one of the tool cabinets. I guess we keep some of the same company. Nice work.

After 5 years of saying I was going to, I finally picked up a riser block for my bandsaw. I have a Ridgid saw, and they don't make a riser block, but after searching the internet I discovered the Grizzly kit fit my saw. Install was fairly easy and I think it runs better now then before.

Current project is a 7-9 block black duck rig. So far I've have 5 in various stages of construction.

Clean up some eyes, mix up some bill color paint and hand paint them (I’ll likely get a big bunch done before doing bills) and slap some keels on them. Ready for bags and weights at that point. Built for a beating!

Happy Easter everybody! Ribs were on the menu today. 2-2-1 method and they turned out PERFECT!

Made good progress over the holiday, 5 birds are rough shaped, need to fill some gaps and clean up some spots. Two new sleeper heads are done and their bodies are band sawed and have bottom and tail boards glued up.

Shadow sleeps in the cool grass while I'm working, when he's ready he barks at me until I come out and throw a toy for him. It's a welcome break especially when it gets hotter out and the shed becomes an oven.

Next up will be two surface feeders and maybe 1 or 2 butt up type feeders.
