Game & Fish just announced.

Didn't get the details on limits yet, will post up when I find them.

"The Commission chose Option 2, with the first stage opening the season on Nov. 19 and lasting until Nov. 27. The second stage will continue the season beginning on Dec. 8 through Dec. 23. The final stage of the season will begin on Dec. 26 and conclude on Jan. 29, 2012."

I believe the Youth Hunt is scheduled for February 4-5.

Or do you want me to lie so I feel better about it?

Probably going to be in school more often than in the field this year.

Now, I will make a standing offer that if you and Thomas come over and need a place to stay, we've got extra bedrooms and hot showers. Thomas can peruse the collectible calls and old decoys. Even if I can't hunt, you're always welcome to crash out and save the hotel cost. The shop has heat, so wet waders, gun cases and jackets can be laid out to dry overnight...

One item to keep in the back of your head for this year, but especially next (hopefully). Got in on a lease on the Cache River, about 15 miles south of Ronnie Ladd's house. Rice field that borders on the river, with guaranteed water.

If one season takes a hit I'm sure you'll survive. The rewards on the other side of the advanced degree are worth it.

Appreciate the offer. You never know...... Wouldn't mind hunting with Ronnie and you again, that's for sure.

LITTLE ROCK – For the 15th consecutive year, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission approved a 60-day hunting season for waterfowl. The vote came today during the Commission’s monthly meeting.

Duck season dates are Nov. 19-27, Dec. 8-23 and Dec. 26-Jan. 29. The youth hunt is set for Feb. 4-5.

The duck bag limit of six will consist of no more than:
Four mallards (two hens);
Three wood ducks;
Two redheads;
One black duck;
Two pintails;
One canvasback;
One mottled duck, and
Two scaup

The Northwest Canada goose zone season will be Sept. 24-Oct. 3 with a bag limit of two. The statewide Canada goose season will be Sept. 1-15 with a bag limit of five, and Nov. 19-Jan. 29 with a bag limit of two.

White-fronted goose season will be Nov. 19-Jan. 29 with a bag limit of two. Snow, blue and Ross’ goose season will be Nov. 5-Jan. 29 with a bag limit of 20. The Goose Conservation Order will be Jan. 30-Feb. 3 and Feb. 6-April 25 with no bag limit.

We get three woodies and two pintails this year...and our Canada season is full length of duck season instead of just January...
