Looking for ideas on a dodger for this boat. It came with one from the manufacturer but its pretty much useless. I have a surplus of 1000 denier that I would like to use. How should I construct the frame work ? Any ideas on bending the radius? I would like to build a sailboat style dodger that I could fold down when I'm running the boat. If anyone is familiar with this boat and have constructed a dodger on one any ideas would be appreciated.

Sorry, what meant was the top portion to fold down for better visibility. I hunt the ohio river pretty regular and it would help in seeing run away drift wood.

I run my BBIII with the dodger up as do most of the guys I know running BBSB and like boats. What I have is a cleat near the bow with a rope that I run over the dodger to hold on to, and run her from the standing position. Quite comfortable and I can see everything. Of course you need a tiller extension handle as well. This way when it gets real ruff the dodger helps to deflect the waves around the cockpit and down the sides of the combing. I love running her this way...invigorating!!!

Charlie, I have thought of runnin her this way, but I have a 63 18 hp johnson on her and unless I can find a way to install a kill switch on the motor I'm hesitant about runnin standing up. I have owned this boat since 99 and am still amazed at the seaworthiness of the boat. Some days on this part of the ohio river I have had her I 3ft swells. Its not something I like to do, but I've been caught out in it before. The only thing that scares me is spearing a wave.
