The weather forecast today is perfect for our short brant hunting season. There are usually gale warnings and similar high winds. But I?ve never had a tsunami advisory (predicted ocean 1-3 foot high waves and strong currents for up to 3 hours) before. Inside a shallow bay with many sand bars and oyster reefs in the fog didn?t sound too promising.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand?An undersea volcano erupted near the Pacific nation of Tonga on Saturday, sending large tsunami waves crashing across the shore and people rushing to higher ground. A tsunami advisory is in effect for Hawaii, Alaska and the U.S. Pacific coast.
​There were no immediate reports of injuries or the extent of the damage because all internet connectivity with Tonga was lost, said Doug Madory, director of internet analysis for the network intelligence firm Kentik. Tonga gets its internet via an undersea cable from Suva, Fiji, which presumably was damaged.

There are some pretty incredible videos online showing satellite views of that volcanic eruption. Amazing what a good camera in space can show.

Brad, no I bailed and drove over to hunt with Fred.
I did see the video. What is even more impressive to me that the dust is the shockwave in the video. They have checked air pressure reading from across North America and can see changes due to the shock wave. They have reported that people in Alaska, 5,000 miles away, heard the eruption.
