ATTN Mark W...... Grassing progress

For those that missed the post Mark had what I thought was a great Idea of using cargo netting to conceal his boat cockpit. I researched on online and found some elastic cargo nets, cheap $15 that would cover my BBSB. I order two and a small one for the motor. So far I love it, here are pics of 2 36x48 nets hooked to the boat. A bonus was in came in Olive green. I plan now to zip tie raffia grass to the net. The motor one I dont think I will like, holes are kinda big. but we will see grassed up. For now, the clips will get fusion painted but I am gonna look for alternatives that will hook around the hull edge better and are not that plastic which I now gets brittle when cold.. I waited to order the raffia, to see if it would work before I bought a bunch. Now if I like it I may order a few more and do one in Green tones for early season and one if brown tones for later and also look to see how these fit on my ducker. Iam wishing I ordered the raffia right away so I didn't have to wait till next week.

Looks nice Bill. The easy part is the grassin. Make sure you use different lengths of raffia and tie it in different directions. Looks much more realistic that way. Can't wait to see the finished pictures.

Hey bill can you give me some info on that tiller extension you have on your motor looks like a nice set up some pics and info if you can thanks a bunch

came with the boat, I think its just one of those cheap minnkota extensions. sorry can't be more help.

That looks like the tiller extension you can buy at West Marine, same as mine and I wasn't too happy with it. Very "wiggly"

Yeah I see it now I have that one too I beefed it up I ran a 3/4 wooden dowl down the center and jb welded the plastic and pole together not wiggly now. My problem is it doesn't grip the tiller handle very well thanks anyway bill boat looks good let's see some grass pics when you are done

How is the grassing job coming along. I am anxious to see how it turns out. I am considering the same method. THanks!
