Half way through August and no workbench thread? Everyone out fishing or preparing for the seasons?

kids are down to one arrow so I took my 3D printer and made a fletching jig since my arrow fletcher wouldn't work since the wood is bigger in diameter that production arrows.

August is a super busy time in my shop. Getting ready for the hunting season, multiple boat projects, railbird stuff! So I didn't have time to start a thread. I'm glad you did.

Here's a couple blue wings out of the shop last week. And a Pintail early this week.

I picked up this hand plane at an estate sale close to my house Sat morning. When I bought it I had no idea what it was and had to research it. Anyone ever hear of an Irish Chariot Plane? Me neither until Saturday after a bunch of internet searching. The iron (blade) simply is held in place by the wood wedge. The iron is removed by striking the circle with a hammer. The maker is unknown. Maybe it was made by Ward and Payne (Sheffield, England) who made the iron sometime in the late 1800s. J. Dobie was probably the craftsman who made his living as a jointer (woodworker). I am cleaning this boy up and putting it back to work.

Not to rub my good fortune into anyone's face, but at this estate sale I also found a nearly complete set of eight cutters for a Stanley 77 dowel maker. These sell for around $100-$250 each on ebay. I also picked up some really nice chisels. The seller looked in my box and said $40 for its contents. I could hardly contain myself.

If you are so inclined the below is a nice video I just found about a similar plane.
