Avery Killer Weed

Never used any "killer weed" and don't know if Avery meant a double entendre. Does anyone on this page use it and do you recommend it ? No rolling paper ads please.

It works good as a base layer, or if there is a bit of rye or wheat in a cut corn field. But I would suggest always trying to use what you find in that specific field. Don't be afraid to take all of your killer weed off your blind if, for some reason, it doesn't match your field. If your blind is wet and the field is dry (or vise versa) you can have problems, or if there is a heavy frost. Key is to match your field the best you can.
This would be less important on a boat, but still try to match. Killer weed can be a good start, but is typically not enough to blend with your background, due to the fact that is always changing. I store bags of different color killer weed in my trailer to try to adapt.
Hope this helps,
Neil

I've used it on the blind on my big rig. It's a bit expensive, as you can buy bundles of raffia grass at Hobby Lobby or bulk on-line, and dye it yourself cheaper. Anything that you buy is going to be hard to blend in to natural surroundings, especially on a big boat. Chances are your blind is going to be seen, the trick is to make it NOT look like a blind.

Thanks guys,
I intend to incorporate it into my pop up blind. I've used their real grass before on other blinds with great success. I'll be tying the boat against phragmites and giant river cane and seldom with a bunch of trees as back cover.
Best,
Harry
