axle placement

Need to know where the correct location of the axle on a boat trailer is?
The trailer that I picked up looks as though the axle is too far forward.
With the current position, I think that the added weight of the motor will cause it to do wheelies.

Thanks in advance,
Gary

tongue weight should be 10% of total loaded trailer, boat, motor and gear I believe.

Gary,
Like has been said, 10% tongue weight is the goal. Seems most stock boat trailers have the axles so far back it is much higher (at least that was the case on my 2 Devlin's), but it sounds like you have the opposite problem. It is unsafe to have negative tongue weight, so you should consider moving the bow stop forward to get at least 10% weight, or have a knowledgeable boat shop set up your rig.
