Two of the Geese we killed today had Bands. One of them was special. It had a yellow Neck Collar G6F a white Leg Band G6F and a metal leg Band labeled Zool Museum, Denmark. Has anyone ever seen on of these?
Years ago - early 1980s - we captured a Eurasian Wigeon along with a bunch of Brant we were rocket-netting - up in Lawrence. The language on the hen's band was in Danish. We called the Danish Embassy in NY and found that it had been banded on Greenland (which is part of Denmark).
Of course, except that Eurasian Wigeon are pretty regular up in Lawrence, the only clue that she was not an American Wigeon was the band.
Nice find Jack! In the past I've seen a Barnacle Goose in R.I. and Eurasian Widgeon on both coasts. I even saw a Common (European) Teal when I was kid in Pt Washington!
You never know, huh?

Lots of Birds to the north of you in Connecticut Have yellow neck collars, especially in SE Connecticut along the shore. Be interesting to know exactly when and where it was banded
I know that it was ringed in NW Greenland by Tony Fox. Hence the G6F on the neck collar and leg band . Apparently this is one of 150 Canada Geese he Ringed. They don't call them bands
