Bant decoy done

on that particular species, the primaries carry back to the tail---you have knid of pinioned the deke!---the shape of the body/head certainly reflect the jersey notion of brant, for sure!!
Do not change this one, but get on google before you paint the others, just to see where primaries, tertials, secondaries actually go.

Chuck, It's you that keeps me going you know...............Seriously though. I painted this one three times before settling on this. I was not crazy about the grays that I first started with, much too cold looking. I like the warmer browns much better. Something tells me that the Brant won't mind................Kevin

Yeah, I can definately relate. Greys and browns are tough. Take notes of what you mix, what you like and what you don't. And yes, you and I are likely much fussier than the birds when it comes to the "right" shade of grey.
