My first thread was getting a little too long so I thought I would start a new one.
The keels are on! I attatched mine differently than Eric did on his Scaup build from the main page. I used bolts to draw down the keel on the curve.

Placing the 1" x 3/4" African Mahogany between the strings to keep it centered I drilled a hole all the way thru the keel and the bottom of the boat. The hole is was slightly larger than the 1/4" bolt I used to allow for adjustments. Starting at the bow with about a 2" hangover I continued on to the stern. I first did it without any epoxy so that I can place the holes dead center with out having to worry about the epoxy kicking before I could do anything with it. After all holes (6 total) and bolts were installed I removed everything and mixed up some thickend epoxy to the consistancy of ketchup and coated the keel seam. I then reattatched the keel with the bolts centering between the strings as I went.

Once the epoxy set for a couple of days I removed the bolts, placed tape up under the boat on the floor to stop the epoxy from flowing all the way thru and filled the holes with some more ketchup epoxy and will sand the face of the keel smooth again. I now have epoxy dowels helping to hold the keel on.

For the side keels I had the help of my wife. I drew out the alignment lines and drilled pilot holes in the center at even spacing down the length of the side keel. She held the keel between the alignment lines and I went up under the boat and screwed small SS screws up into the keels but not thru them.

Let me know what you think.
I have my paint on order from Lou. It will be sent out tomorrow. After a couple more coats of epoxy its paint time! Thanks Lou for your help in picking out the color and for your time! Looking forward to using your highly rated paint!
