As happens with some regularity, I got an out-of-the-blue e-mail asking for my color charts for Behr paints. I have them for most species - but not all. The Behr Paints - Shoveler folder has been empty - until this morning.
I have only carved a single pair - back in the mid-80s - for myself. I shot over these for many years. They are among my favorites because they channel the old Wildfowlers that I admire so much. They are hollow White Pine - and were painted with tube acrylics.
Here's his mate:
Some details - the cape and scapulars.
The sides.
The tertials et cetera.
Her face and bill.
Hope this helps!
