best blind bag

Looking to get a new blind bag. I've used hard boxes and soft bags. The boxes are wateproof but not so flexible and the hinged top makes quick access a pain, and the bags are flexible but not waterproof. I'm particulary interested in the avery bag. But does it hold out water from the top as well as float. I'm not worried about durability. It looks tough enough. I just want to keep a few things dry with out everything going into a ziplock or dry bag.
Thanks,
Frank

I have one from Cabelas and another from Drake. I like the hard plastic bottom of the Cabelas but like the design and features of the Drake better. The only thing I don't care for on the Drake bag is that there is a clear plastic zippered pouch that you can put items such as maps that you need to glance at quickly but don't want to get wet. I don't see a need for it considering GPS units are a dime a dozen these days.
I also have the small Avery bad (I can't remember the name of it) that I only paid $12 for. I guess you get what you pay for.

They aren't cheap, but they are dry, TOTALLY DRY. I've had a backpack and a duffel for at least 5 years and they've never given me a bit of problem. I like the duffel a little better because the opening is larger and you don't have to dig so much to find your stuff. I save the back pack for walk in hunts where I use the shoulder straps. They do not have pockets or compartments so all your stuff is jumbled together. But if you want things to stay dry they will. I mean not a drop of water nor even any dampness. One wet camera or cell phone and the bag has paid for itself. They float to so you can take them off when you wade in to hunt and float them making your load lighter.

My cousin has that bag and loves it. There's a plastic pocket to put electronics etc. in. I have a cabelas brand bag that has a solid rubber bottom on it so water can't soak in. Both are nice bags. I carry a box as well for my flares, medical kit, registrations, etc that you rarely have to get to. The blind bag I use for the stuff I use every hunt.

I have one of the Drake bags. There are a couple of features that I think are really useful. One, they are light tan on the inside; that make seeing things easier. Second there are lots of pockets and clips on the inside for organizing things. I've found the to be reasonably waterproof. Not a good as a dry bag. But I'm hunting our of covered blinds so it works for me

I have the drake and I like the clear pouch in the top which allows me to make a quick peak at the regs card, sunrise card, and tide chart. The bag is roomy and has several pockets, carry everything in it including my camera, calls, spare this and that, lights, gloves, beanie hat, calls, snacks for the pooch. The way the season has been going, the calls and shells can be left behind for more pooch snacks.

I got one of the Avery Finisher blind bags on sale a year or so back and it does the job. Could be a little bigger at times, but it doesn't take up too much space in the sneakbox.

Not sure if this is what your looking for but check out the bags from:

They will custom make anything you want. I use their lift bags in our dive operations and their drybags. They are made to military specs. I have a had one of their drybags in use for over twenty years going from boat to boat. I keep all my captains stuff in it and then some. Great guys and fantastic customer service. There are not the bag you see in West Marine. They are as tough as you will ever find.

I have one of the largest Avery blind bags they make. I like it but it isn't that waterproof.
The Watershed bags are waterproof and I would love to own one. Only thing I don't care for is that everything goes into one hole.
The Final Approach backpacks used to be waterproof and they were really nice. Not sure if they are now or not since Kolpin took over.

I have given up looking for the perfect bag. I use the Avery bag for boat hunting. I use an assault pack for wading. If it's raining I use a large dry box. Anything I don't want wet I stick in a ziplock.

Get yourself a 7 1/2 gal. bucket - take the handle off and put a shoulder strap on the bucket - go to the pet store and buy a screw on lid - used one for 30 years and they keep everything dry......... your investment will be about 10 bucks..... I've had mine all over the country - got alot of laughs - also have alot of guys looking for 7 1/2 gal buckets.......
