Best Grass for Spray Dodger

I'm new to this BBSB hunting. I cut grass last year by the side of the road in a brackish marsh, wire tied it in bundles and saved it.
It didn't hold up to well today. Its the same grass we have made Mats from that lasted several years,
What do you guy's use.

(I'm hunting tidal marshed on MD's Eastern Shore)

Fastgrass. I don't know if they still make it. Left it outside for a while in the rain and such to darken it up. Works great.
 
I'm using Fastgrass. You can still buy it at Gander Mountain. The Cabelas stuff is just like it. Make sure to add native vegetation so you'll blend in to your surroundings. My grass is going into its second season and it has held up very well.

Ha, I thought this picture was me but it's Brian F. in his Devlin! I'm sure he's using Fastgrass too. Sweet boat:) Here is a pic of my Fatboy in the marsh.

I have had great success in using " gooseview"-quack-grass model #gv1gg4848 for$29.99 for 10 pack from wings supply.Shop on line24/7 www.wingsupply.com each piece is tied with nylon 'clip on hooks and each covers20'"l x14''w. What I did to my "The Hawk' [tdb] was laid green plastic chicken wire mesh [ froms LOWES]and clipped on the raffia bundels on to it, then using krylon spray 'camo' paint I tonned down the color of the raffia You can clip the bundels onto your dogger grass straps or buy some fish net at an arts & craft store try [A. C. Moore craft store ]and do the same, Go one step further and add a few of bundels of blueben grass in your grass rail this will give your boat a 3-d effect. If your boat is 14 ft. like mine you can buy 10# box from cabellas and use black plastic wire ties,pull the desired amount from one pack fold in half and cut into, then go down about 4 or5 inches and wire tie to netting whala your done good luck
 
If you buy new fast grass, quack grass, etc use some marsh mud to beat it up a little bit and take the shine away. I use a combination of the fast grass and cut grass. Use small plastic zip ties to secure it. Nothing replaces cutting your own, but the fast grass is convenient.
 
I guess I needed to be more specific.
Do you use cord grass, needle grass, grass cut off the side of the road by the marsh,
or do you chop it from the area you hunt each trip and do the dodger and decks on the spot.

I cut it from the areas I hunt. I can usually keep a bunch of it on the deck of the boat for a week or so before I cut some more.

The key is to cut the grass in the same area you are hunting, but away from where you actually set up so you don't cut out all the natural hide.
