Big old freighter canoe rebuild

I pulled the tarp back yesterday and shes doing fine in the same condition as I left her . Had a big fire this year so most of the spring went to that mess. Rebuilt a camper in the summer. I wish I had the indoor shop space for the canoe that way I could pick at it little by little. Thanks for the interest.

...... But last time she said stuff like I never knew you had so many boats back here. Whoops. There's also a pile at the clubhouse. Pat Gregory can attest to that.

Love this quote. I am trying to figure out how I an buy a fourth boat before I sell one of the current boats. Unfortunately my wife gets to all the places I could possibly put her. Working on a buddy to let me store it at his place until one of my current vessels sells.. Too funny.....

Haven't been on here in months how is the canoe did you ever start the project back up?
Well it's been 10 years since I started this rebuild and finally got some paint on that old gal. Still have more work to do but I can see the finish line.
It was nice to read the thread posts and realize we still have some of the guts still here and some have gone away and some are REALLY gone.
I was listening to Eric's comments on a recent podcast about the value and continuity of this forum and I wholeheartedly agree. Where would the documentation be for this boat other than here. You wouldn't be able to pull this build record up on any of the social media platforms. So thanks Eric for running this site . As Emil Faber proclaimed, "Knowledge Is Good"

Thanks. Were it not for folks like you who share their knowledge this place would have dried up and blown away. But we live on because there is value in what everyone shares that needs to be available for future duck hunting enthusiasts.
