This weekend was our split season layoff. We were very lucky to be invited to a clinic at the Minute Man Sportsmans Club and 5 of our Shooters made the trip.

The Boys were instructed by Craig Hancock who's son Vincent did quite well in the 2008 Olympics.
As if that was not enough during the practice John Michael McGrath stopped in. He stayed for a box of shells and then Billy Crawford came by. He was joined by Cory Cogdell and both shot a full round with the team. Let me tell you that these Olympians are the real deal and if anyone ever asks you to help USA Shooting it is People like these going for the Gold and fostering the next generation of shooters.

The young shooters of the newly formed Groton Sportsmans Clay Grinders were very impressed. They really liked shooting the K gun that scored the highest international double trap score to date!

Thanks to the folks at Minute Man and the Garvey Family. If you have a kid that likes to shoot please take a look at the Schoolastic Clay Target Program. It is a great way to teach safety and marksmanship, along with meeting great folks who like to shoot.

That is great , did John shoot ? I did not know our club had a "clay grinders " organization there !! Nice job keeping the kids involved !! Will be signing my youngest up for her hunter safety coarse this week .

John started out with his desert camo Boston Red Sox hat but added his Mighty Layout Open Water Gray beanie because the temps were dropping right out before the storm. What a duck day it would have been.
We just started the team and I have support and interest at two other local clubs I have contacted. I have four girls already shooting with us and I think we are going to have a ball with all the kids.
