Binocular problems

I have a relatively inexpensive (little over $100 I think) binoculars made by Nikon that I think I am having some problems with. Maybe someone knows what's wrong or if it is worth it to fix them or even if they can be fixed.

It seems like the binoculars have double vision. Since it could very possibly be my eyeballs, I asked one of my recent hunting buddies to look through them as well. He too was seeing double on everything in the field of view (and no drinking occurred prior to, or during the hunts in question). If I put the eye pieces real close together I would see one image but I think that had more to do with me only seeing what I was looking at with one eye.

Any thoughts?

The prisms are no longer in alignment. A repair shop or the manufacturer should be able to set you straight, but I don't know how much they'll charge you or if they'll honor a warranty.

Mark I have had that happen on several pair. Drop them, sit on them, etc. The two sides don't line up perfectly. double vision. It could be a misalined prism also. When you put them up to your eyes see if there is some looseness in the center and adjust. This is a weak spot in most bino's If a prism is out of alignment cut them in half make a monocular out of them.( : )

Sounds like you dropped them. Try sending them back to Nikon. They might not charge you or give them a cll and see if they will. I,ve sent my Zeiss back on several occasions, No charge

defenetly send them back to nikon.

i have sent just about every thing back for repairs from rifle scopes to spotting scopes and binoculars. most of the time they have fixed them for free or replaced them for free even though it was my fault. worst case scenero they get fixed and cleaned like new for about half price.

Yeah, they're out of alignment, send them back to Nikon, A friend sent a couple pairs back for problems and Nikon took care of him no cost. Might be good to call them first though.

if they are porro prisms, not roof, and not sealed - unscrew the bells (objectives) and put them back on. Oftentimes they can become cross threaded and a simple rethreading them works.
