Boat Blind Modifications

Guys,

I have a mud buddy fast grass blind that I would like to modify this summer. I have taken the blind off my boat and plan on changing the fast grass material to shaggy material. The problem with my set up is, that the boat is 18' long and the blind sits up too high in my opinion, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Does anyone have any experience modifying these blinds to a lower profile, I know I'll never convert it to a sneak box, but now is the time to fix what I have.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I beleive a mud buddy is similar to a beaver tail blind. 3/4" EMT I think??? If so, I moded mine, where the front cross arm went across, was right over the front seat. So obviously I wanted that arm pushed forward. I bought some new lengths of conduit, bent them with two angles instead of the factory one, and remounted. If you were going for lower profile, then just cut them off. You can always buy some more and go back to the orignal design if you like. The only thing that was kind of hard, was drilling a hole square through the round conduit. I built a jig on my workbench, to hold the conduit steady and square, with a hole to place my bit at the same offset every time. Also use a SHARP bit!

Steve Steve, give Glenn a call from Mud Buddy, he'll be able to tell you exactly what and how to modify it. I have dealt wth him a number of times. Good guy.
