Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Had all three boys and their families home for Christmas. I and the wife had a great time with the kids and grandkids.

I know this has been talked about before but I can't find the thread. I've applied for financing on a new boat. If the loan goes through I will have to show full coverage insurance to satisfy the loan amount. I would welcome any suggestions you guys have for watercraft insurance. I'm in Illinois if that makes a difference.

Mine is wrapped in with my carrier for home, auto and life. I don't know if that is smart or not, but definitely easier.

Kevin, like you this is how I've insured my boats. I always wondered if I'm getting a good deal or not since I've never had a claim.

I have mine bundled too, State Farm. Only $120/ year. But make sure to work closely with your agent to make sure you have the right coverage and understand exactly what your policy says as far as replacement, contents, etc.

Ed, like Carl said make sure you check into what each company covers. My experience from back in my tournament days is some people learned the hard way their insurance only covered the boat and motor but not the contents, regardless if the claim was for theft or an accident.

My boat and trailer is insured with Progressive. Make sure the contents are covered and also that roadside assistance and towing is part of the package.

Checked with my insurance company. The quote was darn near the same as my car insurance. I got quotes from BoatUS and Progressive that are much better.

I have insurance through Progressive. I broke the drive shaft of my 25 Etec on a boulder going in reverse. I filed a claim and instead of $850 it came out to about $200 to get it fixed. I pay about $100 annually so In my case it has been well worth it and I have no complaints on how the claim was processed.
