boat insurance

I have finished my Gator DH2 project and have modified my trailer to fit.
All I need to do is add water.
Which brings me to a question for you guys. How much do you think that a DH2 is worth and how much insurance should I carry?

Your outboard cost plus 4k. Main thing is liability. Don't bother to call Progressive, State Farm, etc. I was able to insure mine with BoatUs. Heritage Marine which had previously insured me lost coverage through Zurich, and then found another insurer. Don't think you can beat BoatUs.

BOAT US, i had alot of issues, and they were fantastic to deal with, and they pay out so quickly, no messing around, and the cover just about anything.
i carried 18k full replacement on my 22' chawk pilothouse it was around $350.00 for the year

Check with the company that insures your cars and/or house.
They can often add a "rider" (I think thats what its called) cheaper than a new policy can be written by someone else.

I insured my boat with Progessive as well. Problem was about a month later I got a notice they don't insure wooden boats and they cancelled my policy. Long phone conversations about how it was a composite and not wooden boat were to no avail.

Ed. Like I said above. Charter Lakes. They will insure most any good boat. They understand boat construction.
