Boat nav lights

Last year I decided to put permanent nav lites in... I used sticky pads to attach to the underside of the hull, all came off during the winter. I hunt a Southbay. Do not like portable lights... Trying to make my life simple at 70...
 
Have you tried the new LED portables? Whole new ballgame. Super dependable and batteries last forever.
 
Getting ready to install LED lights in Rufus' Southbay. His foam has a layer of glass on it, so I was just going to screw wire wraps along the way. As long as he does not get too rough I hope they will hold. Will see in a few days how it works out. Using a waterproof box from Walmart like I did for the switch box. Mounting it on some L-brackets mounted to the floor on the starboard rear quarter. Battery will be centered, in front of motorboard under rear deck. I am sure he will eventually post up a photo essay of the efforts we are doing on his fleet.
 
Dave, you guys gonna wander up to NY again??? Heard about the the snow goose late season in NJ, no plugs, electronic callers and no limits... Sounds like a road trip...
 
Interesting subject at the moment. Just tonight, I conjured up a "little" help from a "little" friend of mine to help me run the wires in my Zack Taylor Widgeon Sneak Box. All it cost me, was a pizza and some ice cream. Pretty reasonable, I thought.

At 6' 1", 200 pounds, I would've been hard pressed to fit up in there myself. Little 10 year old Yahir did just fine. He drilled the holes where they needed to be, fished the wire, and even stapled it out of the way. I am planning on using a very small deep cycle battery, probably a 12 volt, 7.2 AH, a pair of switches and a 12 volt cigarette lighter type plug just in case I'll need to charge my phone or whatever. There will be a bow green/red light, removable rear white light on a pole, and a pair of interior lights.

I did mine a few years back. I was able to run the wires and hide them except in a couple of spots. What I did was buy some cable hiding covers at any Home Depot, Menards, lowes whatever. It does have sticky tape on the backside but make sure you clean the area well before sticking down and do it when it is warm outside. Then you can put the wires inside and out the cover on top. Very clean look, simple to do and you can add or remove wires easily.

There are many varieties of this wire hiding profiles. Get the one that is the thinnest and widest. I can take pictures f needed.
