Looking for a few inspiration pics of brant decoys. Im 6 birds into the 2008 rig and I am looking for some creative head poses and generic painting inspiration to keep me motivated. Should be 8 birds total and Ill post some pics when I can.

Here's a few I just finished....................paint doesn't need to be that fancy though.

Some White, Raw umber and Black should get you in the ballpark..................Happy carving! Jode

Holy S#*t Jode. I'd build a friggin golden pedestool and put at the foot of my bed for a masterpiece like that. The dreams I'd have!

Beautiful Jode.The long past carvers gotta be cheering you on.Don't think they could produce a beautifull pair like yours.

I am not sure why i am posting this after the examples that have been posted already. These don't compare, but they do have a variety of head postions and simplistic paint.

Bill,

Don't sell your deeks short. Your decoys at least have the primaries and tails in approximately the right place in relation to the upper tail coverts.

Nice decoys!

Bill, Those brant look nice, and they are probably more inline with what the original poster was looking for anyway.........
 
Thats about what I had in mind. All are impressive though I doubt Ill be painting any like Jode's. Is that "delaware river style"? how long to paint such a bird?
