anyone else own a Miroku made Browning SxS? I own one now with 28" barrels choked full/mod. Anyone have any experience with this gun and having the full choke bored a little more oped to improved or light mod?

Congrats on getting a BSS. I have an early one - assembled in Korea from parts made in Japan, with a silver, single non-selective trigger. Originally choked F/M, now M in both barrels. I have used it for a few 'traditional' duck hunts with Kent Impact shot; it certainly does the job over decoys.
It is a heavy gun, very stoutly built, but I have always liked the handling since I tried one belonging to a friend. The previous owner fitted mine for a sling, which helps when upland hunting to offset the weight.
Discovered I really like it for late season clean-up pheasant hunts on Pelee Island, when we shoot more powerful loads since the shots are farther out then. My buddies christened it "The Howitzer" for its long reach......

Hers another question on same gun. Can thinwall chokes be installed in the Browning BSS? Have wanted one of these for years but wanted a little more versatility than fixed chokes would provide.

Seems to be lots of threads one can Google up on this. Here is one:

Hello Tom, I don,t own a Browning Miroku, but what I do know of them from some very knowledgeable Browning owners is the Miroku models were made for the U.K. & have lighter barrels than a regular Browning BSS, which means thinner walls. You are a lucky man, Miroku are well sought after Browning shotguns! For that reason I'd be extremely careful about opening up the FC. Just my 2 cents.

Good read on the link provided. Looks like latter year guns can by some accounts handle steel #2 and smaller when properly choked and briley thin walls can be installed. Choke opening also possable.

I like to hunt with double guns, one of my go to guns is a 30" 12 gauge BSS still M/F. Its deadly with bismuth 2 3/4" or 3".
The Browning BSS is built like a tank and not a light gun but not light is good for waterfowling.
I just wish it had double triggers.

Miroku also made side by sides for Charles Daly back in the day. A very good friend that worked at the gun shop I mentioned in the A5 post had a 12ga Miroku, Charles Daly side by side. IC & M, it was and a mighty fine "Shootgun" in his hands. Many birds, wabbits and squirrels came to dinner with that fine gun.
