Bunch of pictures fer ya...

I'm glad you like the bluebills Mike. I think that hen will definitely do the trick when the boys go flying by. It was definitely the favorite pose of the rig at HdG.

Tell Mac to keep practicing. I like the balloon idea. I might try that in the backyard. It'll definitely make things more interested.

I am here in Michigan loving the view up in your part of the world thanks to you. I remember taking Emily and Drew out the way you guys are doing now...wonderful memories...enjoy them all now

Hi Dave ,
Do you have a picture of the hen that you can post??
I'm working on some bills and would love to see her.
My birds are all black cork workers. (nothing fancy)
I'm trying to post a picture but not much luck.
Thanks a lot John

Mike,

Your decoys keep getting better and better: by that I mean, more compelling to look at, more distinctively yours, and more representative of the place they are created.

The Barrows drake is amazing. The design on the back brings to mind patterns (eagle, orca) from Northwest Coast native art, yet it stays true to the intent of being a recognizable GE feather pattern.

Maybe the NW native influence has always been there and it just comes out more in certain photos of your work, but it seems to me you are developing a more distinctive and fascinating style.

Mike, I absolutely agree with Rick. Your decoys are true artwork.....very expressive of their regional heritage and yet never over the top.

Great photos by the way!

Here are the Bills....The hen is the bottom one, and the drake is the right one.

Geez, I go away from the site for a while and come back to find your kids practically all growed up, Mike. Still torturing us in the L48 with the beautiful pics, eh? Great looking dekes, as usual.

Dave

Hitch, come meet me in AK for a BGE shoot this winter and you can take a couple decoys home with you! Mike

I might take you up on that Mike!! BTW, the photo of you in the chair painting decoys seems endlessly idyllic. It makes me want to be there and maybe lift a brush, or maybe just watch. But that photo represents, to me, a moment of what life should be all about.

Great pictures Mike. And your dekes are incredible. One day I will own a set of those!

Been away for months and started to read the stream of notes about your back? Did you have surgery? Regardless, hope that you heal up soon.
